Brendan Hawkins is the visionary founder and lead photographer of C.A.M.ERA, a Columbia, MO-based photography business dedicated to capturing life’s most cherished moments. Specializing in individual and family portraits, events, couples & engagements, sports, graduation photos, and weddings, Brendan has become a trusted name in the community for his exceptional eye and artistic approach.
Brendan's journey into photography began at a young age, inspired by his passion for art. He immersed himself in art courses throughout his schooling, laying a strong foundation in composition and attention to detail—skills that seamlessly translated into his photography. In 2019, Brendan turned his lifelong passion into a profession, establishing C.A.M.ERA and quickly gaining recognition for his high-quality work.
Under Brendan's leadership, C.A.M.ERA has been the go-to choice for major events and programs in Columbia, such as Soul Sessions CoMo, Latin Night CoMo, and Columbia Supreme. His talent has also provided work for big national brands like Bacardi and CarFax. A notable highlight of Brendan's career includes photographing The Voice finalist Morgan Myles during her performance at The Blue Note, capturing stunning portraits and behind-the-scenes images.
Beyond his professional achievements, Brendan is a Columbia native who grew up playing sports, including football, basketball, and track. His background in sports and performance has given him a unique perspective on capturing dynamic and memorable moments through his lens. Additionally, Brendan was once part of a local music group, further enriching his creative and artistic background.
When he's not behind the camera, Brendan enjoys spending time with his family, friends, fiancée, and dog. He loves watching movies and binge-watching TV shows, playing pool and chess, traveling, and catching NBA games. His multifaceted interests and experiences contribute to his unique approach to photography, making each session with C.A.M.ERA a masterpiece in its own right.
